ENTOMITE-M is a predatory mite that can be used for the biological control of thrips pupae and eggs, larvae and pupae of fungus gnats. The predatory mites live in the upper layer of the soil. ENTOMITE-M is available in units of 10.000, packaged in a container with coconut substrate.
ENTOMITE-M contains the predatory mite Stratiolaelaps scimitus; which lives in and on the upper layer of the soil. Its prey consist of eggs; larvae and pupae of fungus gnats. It also feeds on thrips pupae and other soil-dwelling insects. The predatory mites move fast through the soil. The grain mites in this product can cause slight damage to the crop. Make sure the soil is not too moist and use a moderate amount of product.
How does ENTOMITE-M work?
Adults and nymphs feed on the larvae of fungus gnats; thrips pupae and other soil-dwelling insects. You can find the mites in and on the soil and around the basis of the plants. Stratiolaelaps scimitus rarely occurs in the plant. Feeding of ENTOMIRE-M slowly leads to the decrease of pest populations.
How to combine ENTOMITE-M
Against fungus gnats; ENTOMITE-M is great in combination with ENTONEM. Infested soil can be treated with ENTONEM prior to use of the soil.

Use 100-500 predatory mites per m², depending on the infestation.
One release is sufficient.
Scatter the contents of the bottle over the soil near the plants.
Make sure the soil is slightly moist.
Rotate the bottle regularly during distribution to make sure the predatory mites are spread equally throughout the bottle.
The product can also be distributed with a mechanical blower.
