THRIPEX is a predatory mite that can be used for the biological control of eggs and larvae of thrips such as onion thrips and western flower thrips. The predatory mites also feed on spider mite and other harmful mites. This product can be applied in greenhouses when the relative humidity regularly exceeds 75%. Suitable for preventive use. THRIPEX is available in units of 50.000 predatory mites, packaged in a container with bran and grain mites. The grain mites may cause mild damage to sensitive crops.
THRIPEX contains the predatory mite Neoseiulus cucumeris that can be used for the biological control of eggs and larvae of thrips such as onion thrips and western flower thrips. It is also effective against spider mites and tarsonemid mites. The small; drop-shaped predatory mites actively search for prey.
Hows does THRIPEX function?
The adult predatory mites feed on eggs and young larvae of several thrips species. THRIPEX is excellent for preventive use; since the predatory ites can survive on alternative food sources; such as spider- and tarsonemid mites; honeydew and pollen. Eggs of the predatory mite are sensitive to dehydration. The humidity must therefore be at least 60% and preferably 75% for part of the day. The carrier material with grain mites in which THRIPEX is packaged; can cause minor damage in crops that are sensitive to grain mites. Therefore we suggest to try the product first in a small part of the greenhouse. If sensitivity occurs; THRIPEX-V is a great alternative. It contains different carrier material that causes less problems in sensitive crops.
How to combine THRIPEX-PLUS?
THRIPEX is great in combination with THRIPOR; a predatory bug that functions under the same conditions as the predatory mites. THRIPOR feeds on several thrips species.

Scatter the contents of the bottle over the leaves or in small heaps on the soil.
Rotate the bottle regularly during distribution to make sure the predatory mites are spread equally throughout the bottle.
The product can also be distributed with a mechanical blower.
