What are CRYPTOLAEMUS MONTROUZIERI larvae?

This product contains larvae of the predatory beetle Cryptolaemus montrouzieri. The larvae are covered in white; waxy filaments and especially the young stages resemble mealybugs. However; the predator larvae are fluffier and move faster than mealybugs.

How do CRYPTOLAEMUS MONTROUZIERI larvae work?

The predatory beetle larvae eat all stages of mealybug. However; the young larvae have a preference for young mealybugs. The larvae feed on the inner part of the mealybug: the white; waxy shell remains on the plant. CRYPTOLAEMUS MONTROUZIERI larvae can be used to control all species of mealybug and are especially effective in removing mealybug hot spots. An effect is visible within one week.

How to combine CRYPTOLAEMUS MONTROUZIERI larvae

The larvae remove mealybug hotspots. To control the more dispersed mealybugs; we advise to release parasitoids in addition. For example LEPTOMASTIX DACTYLOPII or ANAGYRUS FUSCIVENTRIS.
