LEPTOMASTIX EPONA is a parasitoid for the biological control of solanum- and obscure mealybug in greenhouses. Need something against citrus mealybug? Use LEPTOMASTIX DACTYLOPII instead. LEPTOMASTIX EPONA can be applied in greenhouses and other indoor environments. Adult parasitoids are available per 25 or 100 in a 40 ml container with shredded paper. The product is available for business customers only.
LEPTOMASTIX EPONA is an active parasitoid that can be used in the biological control of several different mealybug species; like solanum- and obscure mealybug. The wasp is constantly looking for a suitable host with its characteristic kinked antennae.
How does LEPTOMASTIX EPONA work?
This parasitoid is great at finding mealybugs over longer distances. The females parasitize the bigger mealybugs and deposit one egg per mealybug. The young wasps develop within the mealybug. They emerge from the mummy after four weeks. This process kills the mealybug; which is eaten from the inside.
How to combine LEPTOMASTIX EPONA
LEPTOMASTIX EPONA is great in combination with CRYPTOLAEMUS MONTROUZIERI larvae. The larvae of the predatory beetle CRYPTOLAEMUS MONTROUZIERI are very effective control agents under high densities of mealybug.
