What is APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII?
The parasitoid APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII can be used for the biological control of cockroaches. It is a small; black parasitoid that develops inside a cockroach egg sac. This inhibits the development of young cockroaches.
How does APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII work?
The female parasitoid deposits several eggs in the cockroach egg sac. The development of the parasitoids inside the egg sacs inhibit the young cockroaches' development. Up to 100 parasitoids can emerge from a single cockroach egg sac. Most of which are females who in turn look for fresh egg sacs to parasitize.
APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII is only effective against species of cockroach that produce egg sacs. such as the American and Australian cockroach.
The parasitoid is most effective in warm; humid environments; such as a greenhouse; zoo or tropical pool.
It takes a relatively long time before the effect of APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII becomes visible.
How to combine APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII?
APROSTOCETUS HAGENOWII is great in combination with HOYHOY cockroach traps. The traps catch the young and old cockroaches; while the parasitoids prevent young cockroaches from hatching.
