against aphids
ERVIPAR contains parasitoids that can be used for the biological control of aphids. The product is especially effective against foxglove aphid, potato aphid and yellow rose aphid, and is very suitable for application in greenhouses. The pupal stage of the parasitoids are packaged in a 100 ml bottle with buckwheat shells. Soon after release, young parasitoids emerge from the pupae and start to look for aphids. ERVIPAR is available in units of 500 and 5000 for business customers only.

What is ERVIPAR?
ERVIPAR contains pupae of the parasitoid Aphidius ervi. This parasitoid is about twice as big as the parasitoid in its sister product APHIPAR (Aphidius colemani ). ERVIPAR can be used for the biological control of foxglove aphid; potato aphid and yellow rose aphid in greenhouses.
How does ERVIPAR work?
Several days after release; young parasitoids will emerge from the pupae. They will look for aphids to parasitize. After about two weeks; the parasitized aphid transforms into a brown-grey; round sphere; the so-called mummy. After another week; the new parsitoid will emerge from the mummy via a small hole in the back. The new generation of parasitoids searches for aphids to parasitize and so the cycle repeats. This leads to a decrease in aphid density. The population development of ERVIPAR can be inhibited by hyperparasitoids; especially during (late) summer. Hyperparasitoids are parasitoids that parasitize on other parasitoids.
How to combine ERVIPAR?
ERVIPAR is great in combination with PROPYLEA QUATUORDECIMPUNCTATA; the 14-spotted ladybird that very effectively controls aphid hot spots in greenhouses.
