Surinam cockroach damage and distribution

The Surinam cockroach mainly lives in the soil where it eats plant roots. It is often found in warm, humid environments, like tropical greenhouses or warm, humid crawl spaces, beneath rocks or garbage. At night they will feed on plant parts aboveground, which can cause damage to plants.
