How do you recognize brown soft scale?

Juvenile stages have oval-shaped, flat bodies and are yellow, almost translucent colored. Adult females are spherical- and oval-shaped with a dark spotted pattern on the back.

Brown soft scale damage

Brown soft scales are plantsucking insects that cause growth deformations to the plant. The large amount of honeydew that is secreted during feeding forms a growth medium for fungi which may cause hampered photosynthesis.
