Effective against various thrips and mites
What does THRIPEX look like?
The adult mites are about 0.4 mm in size, pale pink and have short legs. Their body is pear-shaped and somewhat flattened. They are difficult to locate in the crop. The nymphs are pale brown coloured. Both nymphs and adults are very mobile. The eggs are translucent white coloured.
How does THRIPEX work?
The predatory mites puncture their prey and feed on the contents. Hatching eggs and first instar thrips larvae are predated. Besides thrips, Neoseiulus cucumeris also feeds on pollen, honeydew and mites (including spider mite). This makes the predatory mites able to sustain itself and reproduce in greenhouses when thrips abundance is low. Neoseiulus cucumeris can be applied preventively.
When can THRIPEX be applied?
THRIPEX is used in greenhouses and indoor plantings to control thrips, spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), broad mite (Polyphagotarsonemus latus), cyclamen mite (Tarsonemus pallidus) and citrus mite (Panonychus citri). Consider multiple introductions. The product is sensitive to several chemical pesticides. Ask advice for deployment strategies.
