The product

RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE

What does RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE look like?

RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE is a 2 mm blackbrown beetle with hairs covering its entire body. The head and thorax are dark orange. The larvae are hairless and grey with light length-stripe running over the body. Pupae are more or less round and orangebrown. They are difficult to find. When an armoured scale is preyed upon, it has an irregularshaped hole in its cover.

How does RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE work?

Both larvae and adult beetles feed on all stages of armoured scales, but larvae have a preference for smaller stages. Feeding damage oarmoured scales is visible as irregular holes at the edge of the scale cover. RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE is less capable of feeding on scales covers with hard covers compared to the predatory beetle CHILOCORUS NIGRITIS.

When can RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE be applied?

RHYZOBIUS LOPHANTHAE is used in greenhouses and indoor plantings to control several types of scale insects. Consider multiple introductions. The product is sensitive to several chemical pesticides. Ask advice for deployment strategies.
